Noor leaves hospital

President of the People’s Rights Council and former VP of DUCSU, Nurul Haque Nur, has been discharged from Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). He left the hospital at around 4:45 pm today, Monday (September 15).

Director of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Brigadier General Md. Asaduzzaman, confirmed the matter.

The director said that Nurul Haque Nur has been discharged as per the decision of the medical board as his physical condition has improved. He left the hospital in the afternoon. When he was brought to the hospital on the same day of the incident, a medical board was formed on an emergency basis and treatment activities started. Later, he was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on the 4th floor of the old building of DMCH.

Later, a 10-member medical board was formed with more specialist doctors and Nurul Haque Nur’s treatment continued under their supervision.

Incidentally, on the night of August 29, there was a clash between leaders and activists of the Jatiya Party (JPA) and the People’s Rights Council in Bijoynagar. At least 50 people, including the President of the People’s Rights Council, Nurul Haque Nur, and General Secretary Rashed Khan, were injured when law enforcement forces resorted to lathicharge to control the situation. Nur was first taken to Islami Bank Hospital in a seriously injured condition. Later, on the advice of doctors, he was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 11 pm.
